We had a busy weekend looking at tile, granite, bathroom cabinets and faucets. We have a project coming up that I'll write more about later. No, not our bathrooms as we've already done all three. We're going to remodel one of the bathrooms- the one the boys use- at the house in Thousand Oaks.

Ryan's Prickly Cactus
When we take Ryan and Jacob on this one particular local hike, Ryan always looks forward to a spot on the trail where there is a grouping of cacti. He's intrigued by the sharp needles and always wants to put his finger near the needles poking out. He's very careful, though, and has never been stuck. On Friday, we saw that the cactus had flowers on it and he wanted to smell them but I warned him not to put his nose too close. I know where you think this is going but it's not...he never pricked his finger or nose although he did have a week of falling on his face and he looks like he's been in a playground brawl. So when we went to Costco on Saturday and I saw a big arrangement of cacti in a big bowl, I had to buy it to put in our backyard. Ryan will be so excited when he sees it. However, when Jeff and I were looking out from our family room and saw it sitting on the spa bricks, we realized it was slightly obscene looking. Or maybe it's just us. What do you think?

ReplyDeleteAlternatively it's a sea cucumber. Yes, go with that one.
Have a great Monday.

ReplyDeletecacti porn!
xx
LOL, agreed! Slightly obscene looking! ;D
ReplyDeleteHappy day!
Hi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteNot that obscene like ones I have seen online but I can see what your guys saw lol Oh boy Jeff and you have a new project sounds fun. Hope you have a wonderful day. I am off woo hoo! Hugs, Dru
These cacti seem OK because I have seen worse. Once my grandmother and I were going through the Broadway in Lynnwood, CA and there were clowns with those coming out of their pants. Now that was obscene. I remember my grandmother laughing until tears were coming down her cheeks however she didn't buy one. (it is a good memory) HUGS
ReplyDeleteOpps, it was Lakewood not Lynnwood...
ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteTry as I might, I don't see anything at all obscene about the pretty cactus! lol. Kanan and Cooper look so happy in the beach photos; love the special umbrella they have :) Was also checking out your Costco photo; would love to try those Acai berries. We buy the Acai juice (Pomegranate flavor) from our Costco. It's kind of an acquired taste for me, but I do like it. We tried out Quinoa the other day, for the first time, too and really enjoyed it. ((hugs))
PS - regarding your question about Paul's motorhome. I've asked him to email me a pic as I don't have one. It's a 2004 Southwind Class A, though. If I can get a pic I'll send it to you. xx
ReplyDeleteme again. Well, it is a very subtle and clever title!
ReplyDeleteLook at Wynne, being so innocent. She's snow white and I'm just wicked!
xx
I like the cactus and I was thinking of how cute it would look with while lights on it. My grandma had the cactus clown that Danna mentioned. It was funny.
ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn;
ReplyDeleteLOL!! Slightly obscene looking? I too thought the same when I saw the photo. Hope this doesn't make me out to be a dirty old lady. ;-} Hugs
