My Mills Family HomePage domain name is due to expire on July 8th and Jana is discontinuing her hosting at the end of June, I believe. She has asked if we've removed everything we need off the server and I'm pretty sure I have everything still on my computer as I never upload to the server and delete from my computer. I'm mentioning this because if suddenly my blog disappears or goes all wonky, you'll know why. I'm sad to see the demise of family websites and will miss all the pages that I made over the years. Jana was also hosting (for free) Elliot's Excellent Adventures so that will go as well. I've put all of that on DVD so will always have it. Oops...never mind. I was going to give you the links for one last peek but it already says account is suspended (makes me sound like I've been a bad girl!) on both sites...so I guess that's good in that this blogger blog is still working okay.
Cooper needs to be neutered. We have been waiting for him to fully develop because his breeder told us that her males often grow well into their second year. He will be two in September. Lately, he's been mounting Kanan and Kanan does not like it one bit. Jeff called the vets to inquire about neutering and they told him the cost was $500.00! When did that happen? It never used to be that much! I know we could go to a low-cost spay/neuter clinic but I would be way too worried about his safety. We asked about a teeth-cleaning while he's under and that would add another $80.00 to the cost. We want to get that done at the same time so he doesn't have to go under anesthesia twice.
Our Skamper Ramp arrived yesterday so Jeff will install it on our spa today. It's really nice and warm so we may have a "training session" or two and, if we do, I'll be sure and have my camera ready to film.
So sad! Susan and a few others are still hanging in there and not coming to blogspot.
ReplyDeleteVet fees seem to be increasing each year. I'm thinking about the teeth cleaning for Dahli but the anesthesia part is scary.
Hope the ramp training goes well. Hugz!
Hi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteI let my home pages go many years ago when geocities went bye bye. I saved them all in a folder but have yet to look at them once. I am not wilder about blogger so I will stick with WP until I decided not to blog anymore at all. Wowee $500 that is stiff! Teetch cleaning is reasonable at least since he will already be asleep. Hope you have a great Thursday. Hugs, Dru
Hi Darylynn! Aww, it's sad to see all the homepages go bye-bye. I really miss all the cute family sites and the adoption shoppes. At least we have blogging still, right? :)
ReplyDelete$800 seems VERY expensive! Our vet charges $195 and that includes microchip.
Have a great day! Hugs.
Glad the ramp is there and will be fun to see them using it!
ReplyDeleteVets and dentists are both getting very expensive esp on the East and West coasts where everything is outrageous anyway.
Why not put those pages on Blogger?
You can make as many blogs as you like on your dashboard and create a blog in minutes. Then you can decorate and transfer things as you have time. I don't mean making 'pages' as those are clunky in blogger. But you can maintain many blogs on one dashboard.. I maintain 48 of them for myself and others.
But that way you will have your pages still. They can be designed pretty much as you now have them too and you can take your time making them.
Have fun with training the pups today!
Can't wait to see the "training film" for the use of the ramp.
ReplyDeleteOuch for Cooper... and for you for the cost! HUGS
