Happy Father's Day Weekend!

We have a busy weekend ahead!  Tomorrow is our annual "Touch a Truck" event which both the boys go bonkers over!  This is our 3rd year in a row so we've been going since Ryan was 2 years old.  HERE's info about it and here's a video of Ryan from a past Touch a Truck event.


This event is always held the Saturday before Father's Day so it's a great way for fathers (or grandfathers) and sons to spend the day together.

We also have plans for Father's Day on Sunday.  We are all going down to Orange County to Sarah's (Justin's girlfriend) condo complex in Irvine.  The have a manmade lake with all kinds of water activites.  You can sail or ride on paddle boats like this...

 And there are small waterslides for kids.  We're hoping Ryan and Jacob can join us on Father's Day but if not, we'll take them down there another day.

Jeff's dad George and Robin are coming and Justin and Sarah are fixing a Father's Day lunch.  They've reserved a spot with a BBQ and picnic table.  Should be great weather, too!

    The selective color technique wasn't in Kim's lessons, I saw it on Flickr. You should try with one of Ryan & Jacob photos. Selective color is lovely on kids' photos. :) Small regions of color in an otherwise monochrome image immediately draw the viewer's eye.

    lots of nice plans there!

    Not sure what we will do for Father's Day. I've got a little girl home today with an ear infection, so our plans of going to the seaside might have to be on hold. Given that our summer is like winter, the gale force winds would not do girly girls ear any good.

    but we'll see. It might be ok.

    Lovely plans. Hope you all have a great time.
    Touch a truck is in a lot of cities. Las Vegas features Robosaurus a giant dinosaur that eats trucks and shoots fire!
    I think most kids would enjoy it. I know I would!

    I am not remembering a man made lake in Irvine but they could have made that after I left too. What fun for everyone especially the boys!

    What a great weekend you have planned. I'm a little jealous as I'll be alone all weekend. At least I can enjoy the nice weather we are having the next 3 days. Looking forward to pics of the boys on the trucks. Enjoy the weekend my friend. Hugs
