Bathroom Project

Yesterday I mentioned we were going to do a project in the boy's bathroom in the Thousand Oaks house where Jessica and family live.  We went to Home Depot and Lowe's and decided to go with some things we saw at Lowe's.  It's a small bathroom so we need to stick with a cabinet around 32 inches wide.  I saw this and it looked like cabinets I've seen at Pottery Barn.  It has a furniture look about it.  Here's a photo that I took with my cellphone.

They have granite tops that fit the cabinets and we're going to choose the one that is the same as the one in the master bathroom.  Here's a photo of the granite top.

We'll also get the matching mirror for over the cabinet.  There is a recessed medicine cabinet on the side wall so we'll get a new one that has a beveled mirror.  I was thinking about getting a faucet that has the touch control feature.  You just touch it and it turns on to the previous set temperature and it automatically turns off after a period of time.  Thought that would be good for a bathroom that kids use.  But the faucets need a battery and I'm not sure I like that idea.  Will have to investigate that further.

  2. The new bathroom cabinet, counter top and mirror are lovely. I really like the furniture look. An automatic faucet? How neat. I'd go with that one for sure. I have some RainBird sprinkler timers at the farm that take batteries and they last for years. Not like a childs toy at all. Just my opinion. Hugz!

  3. we've had the touch2O faucet in our kitchen for a while now and love it! the battery is nothing to worry about... it's under the cabinet and doesn't need changing that often! (i think we've only changed them once since we've had it!)

  4. Hi Darylnn,
I like that cabinet and mirror a lot! Great for a boys bathroom. You know Paul has in his bathrooms one of the motion detectors that turn the lights on when you walk in and go off when your leave. It is really cool amd saves on energy. That battery in the automatic faucet could be a problem but sounds very cool. Hope you have a great Tuesday.

  7. all looks very nice.

have never heard of battery operated taps before! Sounds like a good idea when there are kids in the house. I've lost count of the times I've gone into a bathroom and found a tap trickling!

by the way. I did email you yesterday.

  8. Those faucets would be nice. Also if they had any automatic flushing toilets. I am forever still, even at their age now, reminding these two to wash hands and to flush. Love the look of those cabinets. HUGS
