Caterwauling

We had a lot of caterwauling from Hunter!  The dictionary defines caterwaul as:
1  to make a harsh cry
2  to protest or complain noisily
When Jeff went into the kitchen Monday night to set up the coffeemaker for the morning, he was met by Hunter and Kalani and they were weaving through his legs begging for food.  When I got up in the morning, they met me at the door with plaintive cries.  I am feeding Hunter at the same time as the dogs:  7 AM and 5 PM.  He's getting a little less than a cup of the Science Diet RD per day.  I fed him half in the morning and he didn't eat it all so I put it back into the little container I'm measuring his daily amount into to save for his evening meal.  He will have to learn that he needs to eat when it's there or he will have to wait until the next feeding time.  The dogs do it so he can do it, too.  On the other hand, I'm sneaking Kalani up to the computer/cat room where Hayley's food bowl is left out all day so he can eat as much as he wants.  We don't want him to lose any weight because he's the smallest of them all.  I'll weigh Hunter in a week to see if there's any progress.  I'm sure there will be.

Jeff picks up Ryan every day from school at 1:15 PM and he takes him on little errands or adventures.  He does this to give me a break because Jacob is napping at this time so I have a few free hours to get on the computer or do other things I want to do.  Yesterday, they stopped off at a motorcycle shop and Jeff sent me this cellphone photo of Ryan.

  1. I get those same complaints from our two cats as well - he will get used to the routine eventually :) I hope that he can lose some weight...

Even though I see the photos of the boys often, I still can't believe how big Ryan is! I still picture him as such a little baby sometimes. They grow up sooooo fast!

I would LOVE to do food photography and if I had the time I think I would really put a ton of effort into it. Once Shawn is a little older, I was thinking about doing a cookbook some kind. Thanks for the compliments on my photography. I really appreciate it!

  2. bailey is VERY vocal when meal time is approaching! in the mornings he also doesn't let me out of his sight... and if i go anywhere near the pantry where is food is, he goes nuts! bailey gets 1/4 cup in the a.m. and 1/4 cup in the p.m. (then a few kibbles.... about 5 or 6) right before bed! he finally picked up the "cookies" right before bed from brie and tyler! i used to do it for them... then jasmine got in the act.... bailey finally figured out everyone else was getting food! he can't have treats though, like they would... so he just gets a tiny bit of food as a "cookie"!

hunter will get used to the routine... but i'll bet he's still noisy about it!

  3. welcome to my world. Dudley is like that ALL DAY LONG! I feed him at the 'proper' times, then it's non stop hassle until it's feeding again. I tell him to do something useful, or go and read a book, but no, he prefers to just try and trip me up or whinge all day instead!

What a lovely pic of Ryan! :D
Not sure about the suicide rate here, but many says the weather is the caused of the very high alcohol-related-problems rate. :(
    *hugs* and happy evening!

  6. Garfield catterwauls especially the older he gets.
I bought some of that grass for him to graze on. He loves his treats but he seems to have a good metabolism for an old guy.
I leave out a bowl of kibbles all day which he barely touches most of the time. He gets a can of food a day but he really is a seriously senior citizen and they don't eat as much. He gets his treats daily too for hair balls, teeth cleaning, etc and a vitamin.
Jeff seems to be getting Ryan ready for the road! I have visions of him tooling up to see Nanny on his Harley one day!
What a cute photo of him.
