If you remember the photo of Jacob when he wasn't feeling well, he was cozied up under his blanket.
Both of their blankets are falling apart. Again, especially Ryan's! The other day, I took a needle and thread and began sewing up where Jacob's quilt was coming apart. When Ryan saw it, he told his mom to ask Nani to fix his blanket because it was broken, too. So yesterday I spent hours trying to patch up a quilt that is basically becoming thread bare. I did my best and hope it will give Ryan a few more months of comfort and security. If I could replace them, I would. Ryan's is no longer available and I'd have to spend over $100.00 to replace Jacob's because they are only sold in the crib sets. Before I do that, I'd rather see if I can find a suitable replacement. I think Ryan could be talked into an Avenger's blanket and Jacob might be happy with Elmo.
Kids really do say the darndest things. You know how I posted the "No, I do it" video of Jacob taking off his own shirt? Well, Mr. Independence is suddenly changing his tune. We've had Sierra, Justin's dog, here and 3 dogs running around is too overwhelming for Jacob. So now instead of insisting on doing everything himself, he's standing at the top of the stairs afraid to come down and telling me, "Nani, I stuck!"

Hi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteNo need to buy a new one both will outgrow their blankies :) Very cute thought! I love Nani I am stuck hahaha. Hope you have a wonderful day.
Hugs, Dru
I hope your week is going good with the grands, looks like they sure keep yas busy. How cute the things Jacob says. Have a great week. Big hugs
ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn;
ReplyDeleteIt's a lot of fun having two loving grandsons around. How they depend on "Nani" for everything. I miss that. I love the "Nani I stuck" from Jacob. ;-}
Since receiving my complete R&T DVD series, I've spent more time in front of the TV than on the computer these past two days.
Have a great one my friend. Hugs
I personally was a blanket kid myself and I know how well loved those blankets can be. I once got a big hole in the middle of it that my mom had to sew it back together. I also had a "bunny" stuffed animal... which I still have.
ReplyDeleteI love the way Jacob described his being afraid as "stuck". I am afraid of heights and I will go up into places (like a lighthouse for example. But coming down, feels like I am stuck... I have to have help. I tell my brain that it is silly because I went up fine. But coming down is different and it is being "stuck". HUGS
Oh how sweet! We all need our security blankets! Hopefully you'll be finding some suitable replacements soon. :)
ReplyDeleteOh I love that.. broken blanket! so cute.
ReplyDeleteI am in the middle of crocheting a twin sized bed afghan for the famous anonymous kid. Its huge.
I knitted a blanket for her with block letters of the alphabet when she was little. She still uses it after a decade but its in need of repair and too small for the entire bed now, so new one on the way!
Have a lovely Thursday.
hugs
Hi Darylynn, maybe you can find the blankets on Ebay? Audrina is attached to her blankie but she got a Dora one that is made out of the same material that she likes too. My son Daniel was attached to a Gloworm and Andrew had a teddy and pooh blanket. Renee was never attached to anything specific. She just liked stuffed animals. Have a nice weekend, Hugs
