Wynne is back with a new blog (link in my reads) and it really makes me miss the good old days when we decorated our blogs with all the cute country graphics. The Jack-o-Lantern luminaries above were part of a Halloween set from Graphics by Grace. Why do you think they don't show up on Blogger as transparent? I'm sure Annie would know as she's an expert with Blogger. I'm worried about her since she hasn't posted since Sandy hit in full force. I googled the area of the New Jersey shore where she lives in and they do say the power is out so I hope all is fine but she just can't get online to let us know she's okay. I'm wishing I had given her my cellphone number because maybe she could get a text message out. Will have to do that in the future so we aren't in the dark... no pun intended!
We will go over to Jessica's this evening so we can see the boys get ready for trick or treating. Pat's dad will be there so we probably won't be needed to go with them but we may watch a little bit to see how they do this year. Mainly we're going to try and get a few photos of them in their costumes. Since we live at the top of a hill with no houses across the street, we rarely get any trick-or-treaters. We always buy candy just in case but we buy candy we like- 3 Musketeers for Jeff and Snickers for me. See, not only can't we agree on politics, we can't agree on candy!

Maybe you need to bring back your web home. I have cut way back on my FV game playing. It just isn't fun like it use to be for me. I am having fun working on my web pages and going down memory lane of graphics. I am worried about Annie too. I hope to have pictures of the grand kids too. I posted some pictures on FB from past Halloweens. I like Snickers too. I try to eat only dark chocolate. Have fun tomorrow. Hugs
ReplyDeleteI have no idea why blogger does that either! I'm hoping Toni is okay. NJ was especially hit hard, especially the coastal areas as you can imagine.
ReplyDeleteI'm a Snickers fan myself but I've never met a candy I didn't like!
I've enjoyed working on my web site again. It's amazing that so many of the graphics I have are from artists that are no longer online. Sad. I did merge my blogs yesterday into the one you all visit. I've kept the "health" one by itself though.
Have a good time tonight. Don't eat too much candy! Hugs
Hi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteI am a Snickers person also :) Wonder what that means?? I am a little worries about Annie also. I was on her blog several times yesterday but I am sure like you tead her power is out where she is at. I look forward to the kids pictures in their costumes. I will be at the kids house too. Last year their fist year at their house for Halloween they ran out of candy so we did a mad dash to Ralph's! They are prepared this year. Have a fun Halloween. Hugs, Dru
Hi Darylynn;
ReplyDeleteIf you have a PSP program you can make the graphics background transparent. If you haven't email them to me and I'll do it for you. I'm really worried about Annie too. Her area was in the thick of the storm. I've been praying like crazy for all who are. Enjoy the evening with your family and don't eat too many Snickers. ;-} Hugs
It's funny that you mention the graphics and a new blog -- just yesterday I started thinking about "going back" to the beginning and having a country graphic blog.... I miss it dearly and I love all of my graphics.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the boys all dressed up!
yum snickers. I used to love them back in their 'Marathon' days too.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing Wynne's site being back again, but I doubt if it's something I'll go back to. It's more than enough to write on my blogs. Plus I lost practically every graphic I'd ever bought when the computer blew up last year.I had saved them on disc, but the disc didn't work in the new pc. Great!!!
Have a lovely Halloween. x
Hi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for mentioning me in your post :)
I am puzzled as to why your graphics are showing up non-transparent, but I'm sure someone will uncover the mystery! Really nice to see them peeking in on your blog, though :). Rog and I are staying in tonight, both have exams this week, so it's a Halloween-study-night. Hmm, just read Sadie's entry here, I might have an idea to recover her graphics. Must go back to her blog and reveal my idea! Wishing you a fun, happy, safe Halloween. Don't eat too many candies and get a tummy ache, lol (that goes for Jeff, too!) ((spooky hugs))
LOL at the candy conflict. Sorry to say I'm a Musketeers gal. Have fun t/t with the kids. Hugz! I
ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn! I too am worried about Annie. I keep checking her blog constantly in case someone can give us an update.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see quite a few of the blogs with the country graphics coming back. :) I remember that Graphics by Grace set. :) I have it saved some where.
Have fun with your grand kids and Happy Halloween! hugs.
ps. I'm a snickers girl too. :)
Darylynn - I got a comment from Annie. She's updated her blog today and she came through okay. Perhaps you already know that but thought I'd let you know. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteI am okay. Had no power, we are on generators now, some power returning slowly, Thank God.
Thank you so much for your concern and prayers!!!
I will never be able to say how much it has meant to me.
As for your gif and siggie .. they are white because you are hosting them on blogger. If you had a white background for the main posts it would work out, but with color you need to host your signatures and animations, etc elsewhere. That is the advantage Word Press has over Blogger.
Open a photobucket or Image Shack etc. account and host them there and then post as <img src= on blogger by hand. This will ensure they are transparent and also ensure that animated gifs keep working.
You can also remove the shadow around images you post as well.
I thought later about the fact that Blogger had all my blogs listed. Toni mentioned she picked the first one she saw and that's how she got Lilac Cottage. Yes, you can rename New Creation to Joy in the Journey. I saw Annie's info above about the white backgrounds. I remember now that is why I went to white backgrounds for posts because things just look better. Have a good evening!
ReplyDeleteFor the first year since we moved here, Zeno and I have seen some kids going trick or treating. Still, Halloween doesn't seem very popular. Have fun with the kids, and don't eat too many Snickers, LOL!
