Kodachrome, You give us those nice bright colors...

Remember that Simon and Garfunkle song?  They were so great!  Anyway, after finding that roll of 35mm Kodachrome and having it developed, we found it was from Jeff's graduation from the LAFD back in 1977!  I've been really busy and haven't had time to take the film back to Costco to get it on a CD so I scanned one of the photos that shows the whole family.  Jessica wasn't even born yet and she just turned 32 so you can see how old this photo is!

From left to right:
Jeff's grandfather, my mother, Jeff's grandmother, Jeff's dad, me holding Justin, Jeff and Jeff's mom.

I had to add a new label category called, "Seriously?!?"  Here are the first two entries:

1.  My Scooba is acting up... not putting down solution or sucking it up.  I have a lifetime warranty through Hammacher Schlemmer but rather than packing it up and sending it in for a new one, I tried iRobot support. Can you believe one of the suggestions is to drop it on the ground 3 times?  Seriously?!?  What's funny is I tried it and it seemed to help.  We'll see the next time I use it.

2.  Jeff and I are at Home Depot shopping for bathroom things and I see him put a half dozen or more shiny brass door hinges in the cart.  What are they for, I ask?  He replies that they have painted over the hinges at the house where Jessica and family live so he wants to replace them.  You mean the doors where we have just put all "oil rubbed bronze" door knobs on?  Seriously?!?  Sometimes I don't know what men would do without us when it comes to details!

  1. Funny about the door knobs. I graduated from UCI in 1977. So long ago. That picture has to be priceless. Did you blow it up? I left a tag at Elizabeths FB page and there is an update on Buddy and Joel. My son and DIL got a new Iphone too.
I still have a Simon and Garfunkle album in my closet.
Hello darkness my old friend...... I am a rock, I am an island. How come I can remember a song from way back when so easily and am so forgetful now. Glad it will be cooling down soon. Hugs

I was thinking about Elizabeth today, it's her birthday. I'm not on FB, so would you let me know about Joel and Buddy if you get the chance? I hope they are doing ok.

Got to go.oodles to do, and it's parent's evening tonight. Then I'm helping in school tomorrow a.m. Once that's out of the way I can relax and start looking forward to the weekend, we have lots of nice things planned. Hurrah.

  3. Everybody needs a "seriously" label in their blog! Too funny. What fun to find photos from way back. Lots of memories. Yes, I remember Simon and Garfunkel - "Parsley Sage Rosemary and Thyme". I always loved their harmonies.
In answer to your question on my site - yes I changed the name. I just needed something different and a different feel. Have a great day.

  5. Hi Darylynn, how great to find old photos. A blast from the past.
Yes, men sometimes don't seem to notice the details.
    Loved Simon and Garfunkel.
Was shopping last night and they were playing songs from 30 years ago and it makes you nostalgic.
    Have a wonderful Wednesday.

  6. Hi Darylynn;

I'm sitting here laughing at your new label category called "seriously". Loved both 1 & 2 but no. 1 about dropping it on the ground 3 times is the best. Simon and Garfunkle were always a favorite of mine. I was sad when they parted ways. Have a lovely day ahead my friend. Hugs
