Frankenstorm!
Just a quick post about Sandy! This really is a historic storm. New York and New Jersey are getting hit hard! Connecticut and the whole North Eastern seaboard is in danger Ground Zero is flooded, the show doesn't go on on Broadway, the subway has four feet of water. Annie has been posting updates as she is on the shore in New Jersey. I've been able to keep tabs on Annie by looking on my blog list on the right which updates when there's a new post. Annie's blog is Cottage by the Sea. Also in the line of fire is Toni whose blog is Countryside News. She's in upstate New York. You can check in on them too. Heather is in Connecticut but posting on Facebook

Hi Darylynn, I have been watching the new all day and checking up on Anne and Toni and it is bad. My nephew is in Brooklyn and the news says there are fires in Manhattan and a hospital had to be evacuated. So hard to imagine the destruction. Wynne posted at Toni's saying she is bringing her website back and so is Pam Moore. Is Ryan excited about Halloween and Trick or Treating? I enjoy passing out candy to the kids and seeing the cute costumes. Have a great Tuesday. Hugs
ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteHere on the far side of New York State we got heavy winds and rain but just as I suspected, it really wasn't that bad. More like a bad, normal, everyday storm. We are like 600 miles from the coast, so I didn't think it would be too bad. I feel for those closer though and I hope that everyone is safe and those without power get it back soon!
We are about an hour and a half from shoreline. We got heavy winds and trees down in the neighborhood. We are blessed with power. Praying for all those who are effected by the storm.
ReplyDeleteI've been watching the coverage of Sandy on the Weather Channel. How horrifying for those poor people. I did check in with Annie and Toni. Such sweet blogs! I grew up in upstate NY near Albany. Don't know where Toni is exactly located. It must be awful to be in cold weather like that and no power. My prayers are with them.
ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteI have been keeping track also. Kim is also in an area that might of been lucky fot it to pass over. I have a friend that thinks they lost their summer home in Delaware at the shore. Stock market floor 3 feet of water. I have to go check now on Toni and Annie. Hugs, Dru
Hi Darylynn;
ReplyDeleteNew York and a lot of upstate (yes I'm 2 1/2 to 3 hours northeast of Manhattan) was hit very bad. I don't ever remember experiencing anything like this in NYC and New Jersey in all my years. Yes, I met a new friend (Melanie) thanks to you. ;-} Have a great day ahead dear friend. Hugs
Hi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteI watched hours of superstorm Sandy coverage. Horrifying how massive it is. Ontario and most of the maritime provinces are feeling the wind affects of the storm, but as far as I know, no flooding like New York and areas there have had, and are dealing with. Gives me chills, this storm.
Loved seeing the Howl-O-Ween photos, so adorable! My ol' site is up and running now. Here's the link to it, when you have time to visit :0)

Happy Halloween hugs
scary times.

back again, Darylynn :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't buy the FURminator shampoo as, at the time, I didn't know if it'd work like they promised, so just bought the conditioner. Plus, I fairly recently purchased "I <3 Pethead" shampoo at Petsmart for Belle (I know, lol at the reference to human salon 'Bed Head' line).
Last week, I took Belle to the vet to get her shots updated. She got royally spoiled by the Dr ;o). He showed my how to get that icky brown plaque off her teeth without brushing (I have toothbrush and paste for her, which she loves the taste of). He just took his thumbnail and pressed gently on the brown ick and slid thumb down fast and it came off. Belle wasn't too overjoyed with that 'treatment' but she didn't complain. Was more like.. 'umm, what the heck did you just do to me?!'. lol
Hi Darylynn! The aftermath of Sandy is horrific! I'm so thankful that Toni & Kim are ok, & will be anxious until we hear about Annie. Such a nightmare cleanup in that area!
ReplyDeleteThe cartoon was funny! Mike & I both agree, but if we didn't, it wouldn't be a problem. I'm looking forward to the election being done this year. It's been so negative.
We'll be at Disneyland in a few weeks. Mike will be coming home for his 10 day visit, so that's one place we will for sure be going to. Can't wait!
Thank you for the welcome back to blogging! Hugs!
