Worriers

My mother was a worrier, I'm a worrier and my son, Justin, is a worrier.  It's really such a pointless thing to do and there are so many sayings about it but this is one of my favorites.
Today I have my MRI to find out what's going on with my sciatica-like pain.  I'm trying not to worry about it but I'm not used to having any physical limitations.  I won't see the doctor until next Thursday so I probably won't know anything until then... so I'll try not to worry and I may or may not post again until I know something.

Until then, I'm keeping busy today watching the boys.  I had Jacob with me for a few hours yesterday and he'll be back this morning.  We'll go to music at the library, shopping at Costco where we'll look for the forklift and big floor washer and then home for lunch and a nap.  We pick Ryan up at school at 1:30 and then Jeff will take them home when Jacob wakes up.  I'll be at my MRI at 3 PM.  Having them here keeps my mind off things.  Here's a photo from yesterday.  Jacob and Ryan both love all the kid's apps on my iPad.  I make then sit in the middle of a bed so the iPad is safe from being dropped.  In another month, Jacob will be 3 1/2.  He's such a sweetie!

As always, I'm looking forward to the Academy Awards this Sunday.  We've seen almost every nominated movie and performance.  It was a good year at the movies.  Jeff will bring me food and drinks.... it's my equivalent of the Superbowl!

  1. I am a worrier too even though I practice trying to stay "in peace". Staying busy is one of the best ways to control worrying too much. I will also send up a prayer for your appt today.

I haven't really stayed in touch with the movies this year. As Sunday gets closer, I wish I had. Oh well. What would have been the best of them to see? I have heard about the movie Lincoln. At the same time I have also heard that it wasn't historical... but fictional. Unless it is animated, I don't see it really. But there is always Red Box. HUGS

  2. Hi Darylynn,
I come from a long line of worriers it is in the genes. I overcame it about 15 years ago. I still suffer from a little anxiety now and then but I have a handle on it. I can understand your worry over your problem especially since you have never had any real healthy issues before. I can't wait for Sunday I am off we have a Benson Awards Interruption and pot luck at the Cinefamily for member only. Joe became memeber so he can always bring a guest (me). Have a wonderful weekend I am not going to say don't worry to much but just keep busy then. Hugs, Dru

  3. I worry too. Wish I didn't but I do.
I can completely imagine why you are worrying over this. So I am thinking of you and sending good vibes.

A good idea to keep yourself busy. keep your mind busy & don't think about it until you have to ... easy for me to say!

Love that your Superbowl is the Oscars! I doubt if I'll get to see any of it live, because of the time difference, but it's just as well. Back to school on Monday, so I have to be up early.

hope all goes well later on xx

  4. Hi, Darylynn, I'm praying that the MRI doesn't show anything of consequence. I've had sciatic pain and it's no fun. It just showed up and then left - only used NSAIDs. It stayed for several weeks though.
I too am a worrier as well as my mother so I understand where you are coming from. ((Hugs))

  5. Hi Darylynn! I am such a HUGE worrier myself. I worry about EVERYTHING to the point where I will make myself sick over it. I will keep you in my thoughts that everything goes well with your MRI. Sending you lots of good vibes. :) I read your previous post about Survivor. Yeah, another fan! I am a HUGE Survivor fan. Although, for some strange reason, I did not like the last episode even though I get a kick out of seeing Phillip run around in his pink underware. lol Have a great Friday and a wonderful Weekend! Hugs! Enjoy the Awards show! hugs!

Eh, I worry too. I wish I didn't! Life would be so much easier.
Hope Jacob and Ryan will keep your mind "busy".
Best of luck, I truly hope your sciatica-like pain will go away soon.
Hope your son will have a lovely trip :) I have never been to Roma myself, it a city that has never "called my name".
    Enjoy the weekend ahead! xo

  8. Just found your link on another blog and wandered over to say hi! Yes I am a worrier too, but a bit of an ostrich too which compounds the problem! Trusting that your tests with sort everything out and you will be back to your normal self in no time. The picture of Jacob makes me melt - that curly hair is adorable! xxxx

  9. Hi Darylynn;

The females in my family are just the opposite. We take life as it comes and deal with it. I think it comes from my maternal grandmother. She was a very strong woman as was my mother. I love that saying in the photo.
Hard to believe that Jacob will be 3 1/2 already. He's such a cutie with his curly hair.
I pray your tests come out fine and that you get a solution to your pain my friend. Take care. Hugs

  10. Hi Darylynn,
I worry about one thing - health issues so I think your worry time is well spent. Hope the test goes good and that your questions are answered.

The boys are such cuties. How very much they must love you!

Dick my ex passed away yesterday morning. Can't believe he's gone. Pretty sad here right now. Thankfully the kids will be coming. Hugz!
