Chris posted this on Facebook and I thought it was funny. I don't know about in the UK but Downton Abbey is shown on PBS (Public Broadcasting System) in the US. They depend a lot on pledges from viewers for support so that's the story behind this cartoon. Not mentioning what characters they are referring to because I know some of my friends are just watching Season 1 and/or Season 2. Our Season 3 just ended Sunday night.

Rainy Day Daze
Writing this as the rain is coming down on Tuesday afternoon but won't post until midnight so it shows up on Wednesday. I was happy to have a visit from Jacob because he cheered me up after some not so great news. I saw the Physician Assistant (of my orthopedic doctor) Tuesday morning and he took xrays of my back and I have various things going on that could be causing my sciatica pain. I will go in Friday for an MRI and then see the doctor next Thursday. I may need a cat scan as well. Bottom line, it doesn't look like a simple fix to make this pain go away. It's really not very painful- more of a dull ache- but I worry that it could get worse. I've had it 24/7 since the beginning of January and finally had to admit that it wasn't going away on it's own. I still do my exercise DVD 2 or 3 times a week so it's not bad enough to make me want to stop doing the things I normally do. I am not used to having any health problems or physical limitations so it's frustrating for me. Jacob will be back today and we'll go to storytime at the library. I think our rain will be gone by then.

Oh Darylynn, I hope everything will be alright. Back & sciatica pains can be quite awful. I hope you'll get to know what has been causing the pain & how to treat it.
ReplyDeleteThinking about you. Take care,
xoxo
oh I'm sorry about that D. Rotten thing to have. I hope you can get to the bottom of it (no pun intended) and clear up that pain swiftly.
ReplyDeleteDA is shown on ITV1 here, a channel that has advertising breaks(whereas the BBC does not, and is funded by the television licence). The downside to that is that they have A LOT of ads. More than normal - or so it feels. Initially it seemed ad breaks were every 10 minutes, which was ridiculous. I'm probably wrong, but it certainly felt that way. There were a lot of complaints, and it seems to have calmed. Can't say I blame them, it's how they make their loot, and if lots of companies want to advertise during Downton it's understandable. Ratings are good.
Ok. time I was off. Oodles to do, and a little person to entertain! xx
I just finished DA series 1 and then found out that Series 2 wasn't on Netflix. I assume it will be soon since Series 3 just finished. I will have to figure out how to get 2 if I want to continue and not wait for Netflix. Got any ideas?
ReplyDeleteSorry about your aches and pains. I think it is good that you are looking into it now before it might turn into something more. I do know that it takes a long time for the body to correct itself. I pulled a muscle in my arm at the end of summer and it is just now seeming to be a bit better. I had to baby it forever... and I would forget to baby it. It is frustrating when there are those things because it interupts what you do. I think in your case cutting back on exercise is a smart move. Frustrating but smart.
Yesterday we had sunny skies here and you had rain there. I wasn't smart and didn't get out of the house. But today I plan to no matter what. Have a good day! HUGS
Hi Darylynn;
ReplyDeleteI pray that everything will be alright for you my friend. Back pain and sciatica can be horrible. I agree with Danna on cutting back on exercise and maybe aggrevating the back more. Take care and have a lovely day with Jacob. Hugs
Hi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteSo sorry the problem may be a little more complicated. Keep me posted after the MRI. Hopefully this will be something that will correct itself or can be corrected with PT? The rain worked out perfect for me no rain driving in rush hour traffic or when we were in line at UCB but when we were thru with dinner it started! Have a wonderful day with Jacob :)
Hugs, Dru
Sorry to hear Darylynn. Take it easy and keep us updated as we will be concerned for you.
