Gold Medal

Gold medal to Great Britain for a fantastic Olympics!  The settings were just beautiful!  I loved how the runners and bikers in the longer races passed by all the beautiful, historic landmarks and it was nice ending the marathons in the streets rather than the stadium.  Of course it was an amazing Olympics for the United States and especially for the US women.  I heard that if you counted the US women medal count alone, they would've been the 3rd highest country!  Go women!  (Thanks Title IX!)  There are always so many inspirational stories so even if you aren't interested in sports, it's hard not to get caught up in all the emotion.  Have you seen the "McKayla is not impressed Tumblr meme?"  So funny!  I love how things like that just take off.  My favorites were the Sistene Chapel and the Moon Landing
Not Impressed!

She was a good sport about it tweeting her own McKayla is not impressed photos.  Making fun of yourself is always a good way to defuse things.

  1. Happy Monday Darylynn;

    The photos were hysterical of McKayla. She was a good sport to post them and make fun of herself. I didn't get to watch most of the Olympics. I never really got into watching the summer ones. This time of year I'm a baseball watcher. ;-} Have a great day my friend. Hugs

  2. Hey were you able to see the closing events? I didn't. I wonder if I can still see them online or something? Probably right?

    I haven't see the McKayla meme. I will have to take the time and look for it.

  4. I haven't seen the videos. I just think it is sad that they can't be happy unless they get a gold. I enjoyed the sights of England too. Do you remember when they were in LA 86? I bet things will be exciting in Brazil! I am so tired of this heat. Our electric bill is going to be so high! How do the pets do in the heat? Hugs
