Wet!

Took Ryan and Jacob to our little waterpark nearby.  It's just a little play area for kids 5 and under in a local park.  It's free, fun and wet!  Good for hot days although our days haven't been very hot and our mornings are foggy and cold.  I took a couple of candid shots of them getting soaked.

It's a good time-filler before lunch and naps.  Ryan still fights naps but he does stay in his room for 2 to 3 hours.  His latest thing is playing games on my iPad.  While we were at the waterpark, another little boy stepped on a bee and was stung.  That got both the boys worrying about bees so yesterday I went on a search for some watershoes.  I looked at Target, Kohl's, Payless and finally found a pair in Jacob's size at Toys R Us.  They are really cute and they were 50% off so under $5.00.  I couldn't find them in Ryan's size and he was protesting anyway because he wanted Avenger's watershoes...like finding watershoes wasn't hard enough.  Everything has to be Avengers right now for Ryan.  Looking forward to the weekend and the Olympics Opening Ceremonies!

  1. Good Morning!
Shawn has been protesting his naps as well, but we still make him lay down in his bed for a few hours. At least he is getting rest and downtime and I figure that is better than nothing. Plus, it gives us a break for a couple of hours.

The boys look like they were enjoying the water - our nearest water park is like 20-30 minutes away! I really wish we had one closer to us because Shawn would really enjoy it.

Isn't that always the way that kids want something that is so difficult to find! I just went in search of new sneakers for Shawn and I needed to look in 7 different stores, just to find sneakers with laces and not Velcro! Frustrating...

Have a great weekend! We are going to have an exciting day tomorrow - I will be posting about it this weekend but we're going to the National Museum of Play and it's an amazing place where kids can, well, PLAY. It's awesome!

  2. Hi Darylynn,
At least Ryan goes in the room for a few hours even if he has to use the iPad. Cute pictures of the boys. Yes you are so right it has not been hot at all this week and I am looking at overcast skies right now. Hope you have a great weekend. Hugs, Dru

  3. that looks like a lot of fun. The Girl would love that!

You'd have been right at home here this week, been horribly sunny. I'd got so used to the rainy weather that I didn't want it to end! I was a lone voice.

There is a lot of excitement about who will like the olympic flame. Bill asked me last night who I thought it would be, but I just said 'dunno, some bloke with a match?'. To be absolutely honest I am bored stiff of it already. Seems all the telly right now is sport. We've had wimbledon, we've had rotten football (you call it soccer), that bike race thing (though a Brit won, so I am a little proud) there has even been rotten golf, now this!!! Argh. I am not a sports fan, and I am heartily sick of it! If I ever get to rule the world I'm going to ban it from tv!

Still. I'm sure the opening ceremony will be good, and Bill has the next two weeks off, and will be going to two events. He's very happy about that! And that makes me happy.

    So there we go.
    Have a lovely weekend

  4. hee hee, yeah, I am a bit gobby!!

well, I won't spoil anything for you, but waiting for the whole shebang to kick off is dull! It's a bit like the boring parts of the tv coverage for the Jubilee pageant, lots of boring piffle from not very good sports presenters! Urgh, they really need me to be doing the links, as I'd concentrate on the interesting stuff, like the Stella McCartney designed kit for Team GB. You know, the stuff that matters!

I'd LOVE to see old Becks light the torch, as he's not in the footie (why? why?) it's only fair, plus, lots of close up opps. ;o) He will always be considered 'ours' no matter where he lives or works, even when he went to Real Madrid he was OURS!

Did a little photo post on RDD to show how our summer is shaping up.

right. off I go. They might actually get this thing started soon! Sooner it's on, sooner it's over, and my telly can get back to normal! ha ha ha.

    xx
