Movie Review

No, not a review of the movie but a review of how things went at The SpongeBob Movie.  As I mentioned, it's free so that's helpful because you haven't wasted a lot of money if you have to leave early and abruptly.  I brought along some Capri Sun Super V- the new ones that have veggies disguised inside- and then I bought one of the $3.50 snack trays that have popcorn, soft drink and candy.  I asked for a diet coke because I thought I'd drink the coke but I was wrong because Jacob drained it.  I had Jacob sit on my lap since it was his first time at a movie theater.  Both of the boys were mostly excited about the snack tray.  Jacob did really well but after about an hour, Ryan was whispering to me that he wanted to see The Avengers.  I asked Jacob if he was ready to go home and he said okay.  I don't think either of them paid much attention to the movie.  They were mostly interested in the snacks and the other children in the theater.  The rest of the free summer movie lineup (each week is a new movie) is:   Rango, Madagascar, Shrek Forever After, Puss in Boots and Over the Hedge.  Maybe if we go each week, they'll get to be better movie goers.

I saw this photo of a swan and her babies (cygnets) and thought it was such a beautiful photo so I thought I'd share it with you.  I don't know who to credit it to but I saw it on Pinterest.

  1. That's normal for kids their age. The more they go the more they will learn to appreciate the movies for something beside the treats.
I agree! a precious photo! thanks for sharing! Hugz!

  2. Hi Darylynn,
So normal for kids their first time going to the movies. Back in the day Paul's first time was at a Pickwick Drive In in Burbank :) Justin I took the first time to see Pokemon I believe? One is much easier than 2 I am so sure. But I think if you go once a week they will get the hang of it. Very pretty picture! Have a wonderful day! I hear it is raining in some areas yikes that means humidity for some people. Hugs, Dru

  3. Hi Darylynn! I think it's simply wonderful that you have the free movies to go to! I wish that they would do stuff like that around here for the kids. They have free movies in some of the big parks outside of DC but that is too far for a lot of people to drive. At least you got them to hold still for an hour. hehe That's pretty good!

You're right, what a beautiful photo! Have a great day!

  4. Wow, free movies sounds great! :) I don't think there is anything like it here for kids.

That lovely shot of the swan with her adorable cygnets was in the Daily Mail. :)

  5. They get something from the whole experience I think and especially doing special things with their nanny.
