Triple Digit Heatwave Relief

We are having a heatwave...checked our thermometer Tuesday afternoon and it was 101 degrees.  The boys will be here today and I'm taking them to the Muvico theater for one of their free summer movies.  The movies are every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 10 AM.  For $3.50 you can get a little kids tray with popcorn, drink and candy.  Ryan has school on Tuesday and Thursday so Wednesday is our only day to go.  Unfortunately, that's the day Jeff goes with his mom to this Alzheimer's group in the valley which means I will have to take Jacob along.  So I'm going to see The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie with a two year old and a four year old.  Am I crazy or what?  I guess I'll look at it as relief from our heatwave.

  1. Be thankful! It could be worse, some grandparents rarely get to see their grandchildren. My are 17 and 18 and still choose to come and spend their summer vacation with me, I think they're a little crazy! Stay cool and enjoy the movie!!

  2. We are having a heatwave... I soooo wish I could say the same! :D At least once! LOL! We are in the low 50s, and we had oh-my-gee so much rain this year! Sgrunt! :( Mother Nature has not been fair at all.

  4. Hi Darylynn,
    We just made it to 94 here yesterday but in the evening I had to wear a jacket! That is my kind of Summer cool at night! Have fun at the movies. You will be fine!

  5. Hi Darylynn! Happy hump day! :) I'm doing a lot of catching up here. Sorry! As far as chicks, they can be sexed at hatchlings IF you know what you're doing but that would be enough to make anyone angry to have a rooster calling at 4:30AM. I would pluck it. lol I'm glad that it's gone! The pictures of the boys playing in the hot tube are adorable. Cute boys! Your begonias are beautiful as well! Are they hard to grow? I've always loved them! I'm sorry about Jeff's mom. :( It's so sad to watch someone you love so much deteriorate like that. I hope it all turns out well and she's able to get on meds that help. Yes, you're nuts for taking two children to see Spongebob movie. lol J/K :) Have a great time and stay cool!

    Hugs!
    ps. Thank you for your compliments on the food photos and for starting a food blog. I'm going to rethink a blogging plan and give it a whirl. :)

  6. I love Sponge Bob!!! Can I come? (If you could stand 3 kids instead of just 2)
    Hope you had a wonderful time at the movie.
    We were 100 last week and stayed high 90s for most of the rest of it. Along with serious humidity its not nice.
    In Utah it would get that hot, but no humidity to speak off so that's more bearable.

  7. Hi Darylynn;

    LOL! My "baby" 47 on the 15th son loved Sponge Bob.. My daughter-in-law surprised him a couple of years ago before they sold their house and decorated his personal bathroom in a Sponge Bob motif. I think he finally got over it for Sponge Bob is nowhere to be seen in their new home. LOL!! I hope the boys enjoyed the movie.

    Thank goodness the 100 degree temps are down to 85-90 this week but the humidity is still here. You asked me about NY Pizza on my 5 senses list. Mostly thin & crispy or medium thick with anchovies, roasted peppers, black olives and sausage. But I'll eat most any kind except the "Hawaiian" style with pineapple. ;-}

    Have a great day ahead my friend. Hugs

  8. I remember when the heat became triple digits I would take kari and I to the movies (for more than one movies sometimes. The heat can drain a person.

    We are having heat here too. Well, heat has we know it. It will reach 81 degrees or more by 6 pm tonight. When I was out at lunch I could feel it and was breaking out in a little sweat. The boys have their little pool set up and Kari takes them out there to put their feet in it. Riley will sit down but not Brady.

    Tonight they have soccer at our church. So the pool will feel nice whent they get home. HUGS
