Okay so it's really Hammacher Schlemmer. Like Brookstone, I think of HS as an over-priced store with lots of interesting gadgets. Fun to browse but then I can usually find the item cheaper elsewhere. However, back in 2005 or so, I did buy my Scooba from Hammacher Schlemmer because they offered a lifetime warranty. I paid a little more than what you would pay at a regular store but thought the warranty was worth the extra $25.00-$50.00. Sure enough, 2 years later, it developed a problem and HS sent me a brand new one and paid for the return shipping of the old one. So 5 more years pass and now I keep getting the "check tank" message on my Scooba so I call Hammacher Schlemmer's 800 number. They inform me that they only have the new, more powerful Scooba now (better battery power and can clean up to 850 square feet and run for 90 minutes on one battery charge) which sells for $499.95. Back in 2005, I paid $299.95 so I had two choices; get $299.95 credit to buy something else or apply that to the new Scooba! Sold! For $200.00, I get the brand new more powerful
Scooba and I've had the use of the original one for 7 years! How can you beat a lifetime warranty? If the new one ever breaks down and I decide to return, I'll have a $500.00 credit.
I have to share a couple of photos with you of Justin's dog Sierra. As I mentioned, we had a gorgeous weekend with temperatures in the mid-80's. Justin took Sierra to the Huntington Beach Dog Beach. Doesn't she look like she's enjoying herself?
She got a little warm so she figured out a way to cool off. I think she's about 9 months old now.
We have a few days of chilly weather coming up this week then back into the 80's for the weekend.
Happy Tuesday Darylynn;
ReplyDeleteThat's some lifetime warranty on your Scooba. Justin's dog Sierra is a good looking lass. This week our temps will hit the 50's. That's warm for us. ;-} Have a great day ahead my friend. Hugs
Hi Darylynn, I have never hear of that store. You do find some great deals! Sierra is cute and I love that sand picture. Though the weather has been nice, I am not ready for summer yet. Having fun with my Hawaii farm. Did not roll out free yet and it is now the 6th. Oh well, so looking forward to the real deal in June! We plan to take the Road to Hanna tour.
ReplyDeleteI think Sierra is lucky that she has her very own built in parasol attached to one ear! ;o)
ReplyDeleteYes, she looks like she's having a great time. Tell Justin to pack a few warm things, it may well stay like this for the next couple of weeks or. It's going to be a bit of a shock for him!
You and your scooba gadgets! You make me laugh. Mind you, I'm waxing lyrical today about my baking trays, and that is really sad!
have a lovely Tuesday xx
Hi Darylynn,
ReplyDeletePaul paid like $600 for the one he got Lisa for Christmas. He was in a hurry to get it so I think he did not get that lifetime warranty that another place online was offering. They love it! Awww Sierra is so cute in the sand :) Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Dru
Happy Tuesday :) Sierra looks adorable and she sure seems t enjoy playing in the sand :) xo
ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn! Sierra is such a beautiful dog! We do the same thing with our cell phones as you did with your Scooba. The way things are always changing now days, it's smart to go that route. I hope you have a great day!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Hi Darylynn
ReplyDeleteThat is an epic-ly adorable photo of Sierra cooling her tummy in the sand. What a smart dog! That's fabulous that the Scooba company has been so supportive. I would love to visit England. Justin is so fortunate to be going, I'm really happy for him. I hope he takes lots of pics! The snow has finally stopped here, though they're still threatening with heavy snowfall warning. An incredible amount of snow has fallen. I'm off to start shovelling (ugh). Have an awesome day. ((hugs))
Sierra's bathing beauty photo on the sand there is priceless!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute dog she is.
It went down to 20s here last night. If you keep advertizing nice Cali weather there will be a mass exodus from the east coast!
Hugs
Hi
ReplyDeleteIt's in the 80's here today but on the windy side. Good job on the scooba deal. I look at Sierra and think OMG what a face. She's precious! Hugz!
