Jeff was feeling better so we took a joy ride through Hidden Valley. We are so lucky to live where we do. In just a few minutes, we are out of civilization and in horse country surrounded by mountains. This is a gorgeous area and always fun to visit in the spring when there are foals and calves. They film so many car commercials here. If you ever see cars driving through a winding road surrounded by hills and white fences, it's most likely Hidden Valley. Lots of movie stars have homes here... Tom Selleck, Sophia Loren, Jamie Foxx,
Ellen Degeneres. If you saw the movie, "It's Complicated,"
Meryl Streep's home was also in Hidden Valley. It can be yours for a mere 10 million dollars! Here are a few photos of Hidden Valley.
We really love the new Prius! While on our drive, we were learning all about the navigation system and other cool features of the car. It's so quiet and we enjoyed a beautiful sunny day with the sun roof open and listening to the music from my iPhone streaming wirelessly through the speakers. You don't even have to plug it in... it was in my purse (along with the car keys you don't need) and the music just started playing!
HAPPY MAY!
What's a little 10 mill for a nice pad and a chance to sneak peeks at Tom Selleck? I am all for it.
ReplyDeleteI hope you kids were home early and behaved nicely on that joy ride, little Missy!!
hugs..
a glorious driving day then!
ReplyDeleteI've think I've seen that film. Is that the one where she is having her kitchen renovated, but we don't get to see how it actually looked? So annoying! Or am I getting my films muddled up?
have a lovely Wednesday x
Hi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing better than a new car and yours sounds wonderful! It is really great living where we do! We really do have it all here. I have not been through Hidden Hills in years. The kids loved a few doors down from horses and cows in Murrieta I felt like I was in the country when there, then just a miles drive and we were in a bustling city!
Have a wonderful Wednesday it is going to be hot hot hot! Hugs, Dru
Hi Darylynn! Happy May to you too! Hidden Valley is such a nice drive. HUGS
ReplyDeleteGlad Jeff is feeling more the ticket. What a lovely area to go for a drive. I think "It's complicated" is one of my favourite films and that house is gorgeous - I will have to see if I've got that much in my piggy bank.
ReplyDeleteHappy May Darylynn, I always wondered what area those car commericals and movie scenes were. I thought some where on highway 1 out there but I guess I was wrong. Beautiful country. I'll think about buying Meryl Streep's home. After all what's 10 million... LOL!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day my friend. Hugs
Very pretty we are right around the corner from the country as well, it is great. I go there often to just sit and look at the fields and hills, cows and horses, sheep and Llama's I love those. I love Tom Selleck he is awesome. Great actor and person. Congrats on your new car! happy first day of May! Glad to hear Jeff is feeling better I didn't know he was sick. Hugs
ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn, glad you are enjoying your new car. We drove by the Agoura Hills sign on our way to Carpenteria and I waved hi to you :) So cool about the music. I hope to get the Iphone 5 for my next phone. I am off again for the weekend. Nice weather too. Hugs
ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn! Hidden Valley is absolutely beautiful. :) It's Complicated is one of my favorites. The house that was in that movie was dreamy but I don't think it was 10 million dreamy. lol Great pictures! I'm glad that Jeff is feeling better and that you are enjoying your new car.
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Ps! I was sad to see Malcolm go home but I'm really hoping Cochran wins. I'm always for the underdog. No, the tree wasn't outside. I got lucky that I didn't burn the house down.
me again!
ReplyDeletewell, yes, she's going to be in glittery shoes of course! ha ha! She's my daughter after all ;o)
And I had to comment, RE her confidence. I've worked so hard to give her a good relationship with food. She will try everything, then make up her mind. I don't nag her to eat everything on her plate, and nor have I hassled her to eat healthy food. The result is a girl who now loves salad, eats loads of fruit, but also eats McDonalds without worrying about anything. So, I recently had to take issue with the headmistress at the school. Not only have they recently banned peanut butter due to one child having an allergy (don't get me wrong, I have full sympathy, but that child has no business rootling in anyone else's lunch, so it seems a tad extreme), but they were on some mission to stop kids eating choc at lunchtime. This meant a dinner lady went round snooping, and wrote 'unhealthy' against the girls name for having biccies & a small bar of choc in her lunchbox. The ridiculous thing is on the other side of her lunchbox, she had a large pot of fresh watermelon, and a sandwich on 50/50 bread, full of salad with no butter or any other spread!! Focused on so called unhealthy, when that was the stuff girl leaves every time anyway!! A letter was written, and I had a good chat about it.
I was outraged. I put a lot of time and effort into packed lunches, and I'm not a fool. I know what's good and what's not, so to have some woman in a tabard writing such tosh beside Girls name annoyed me. Especially as all the kids saw her do it!
Suffice to say, it's no longer done. I pointed out that the seeds of eating disorders (particularly in girls) start early, so they need to tread carefully. I've already heard the words 'this makes me look fat' when wearing certain things, but she meant it in a 'it puffs out' kind of way - I hope.
So I was pleased to read your comment. I agree, she's got a lot of self confidence. Trying hard for that to continue! My job to do the worrying, not hers!
have a fab day xx
