Halls are Decked!

The thing I like about an early Thanksgiving is that it gets you going on your Christmas decorating and shopping.  Since we had a rainy weekend, we didn't get the outdoor lights up but we did get the tree up and one of our Department 56 Christmas Villages.  On Saturday morning, we had Ryan and Jacob come over to decorate the tree.  I put all my expensive, breakable ornaments aside and let them go at the tree with all the soft, country-type ornaments.  I didn't correct any of their placements because I knew that later that evening, Jeff and I would fix it the way we want it.  They had a great time and were most anxious to place under the tree a lot of the presents for them that I had wrapped.  Ryan, especially, is so anxious for Christmas that it's going to be a long month for him.  I had him assemble my advent Santa Claus that has a tree that you add a numbered ornament to each day.  That will be good for him since he's learning all his numbers and counting.  Here's a few photos of our Christmas decor.

  3. Hi Darylynn,
    Everything looks beautiful. I love your tree always! Christmas is getting so much more fun as the kids get older huh? The rain is suppose to be over after today. I enjoyed it since we did not get any real big downpours like Northern CA got :( over the weekend. Have a wonderful Monday. Hugs, Dru

  4. Hi Darylynn. I think I'll be glad to have the charger but I feel the company should have had that info in it's literature. I'm just sayin . . .
    My halls are decked too but not nearly as lovely as yours. Your tree is gorgeous. I do less and less every year. Old age, you know. :)
    Happy day girlfriend. Hugz!

  5. Our tree was decorated by the boys and I haven't done anything different yet. It lights up and so I don't really see the decorations. I do think that they are one side of the tree only. I can't imagine that they put them high or on the side where the window is. I know Leon the cat has been eyeing the balls on the tree so maybe that is good that they aren't near the window where he likes to sit. Less temptation for him. Ah, kids and cats. HUGS

  7. Your Christmas decorations, and your front door are always so superb & wonderfully decorated !
    This year I put the tree on the coffee table, and didn't hang breakable ornaments at the very bottom ... because of Gary (cat). It makes the tree look taller too, that's a bonus !
    Have a great start to your week !

  8. Hi Darylynn;
    Your Christmas tree is wonderful as is your front door. You always decorate so beautifully. It's so much more fun with children around. That's one thing I truly miss.
    My visit to the doctor's was a good one and being a yearly checkup, it was long. But thank goodness I passed every test with flying colors. Even got my flu shot like as good girl. ;-}
    Have a great beginning of the week my friend. Hugs

  9. Lovely tree! I have so many memories of my kids decorating the tree. We had lots of home made ornaments then that they took with them when they married. I miss those days! I love the dog ornaments. I need to get some for Mandy and Tabbie. ((Hugs))

  10. Hi Darylynn,
    Everything looks so beautiful. :) I cherish the memories of decorating the tree with my kids, I wish Colton and Braedon could help decorate our tree. It is so hard having them live so far away.
    Have a cozy evening.
    HUGs
