No Black Friday or Cyber Monday sales for us this year. Instead, we are having a little getaway to San Diego. We took the dogs and met George (Jeff's dad) and Robin at Santee Lakes, one of their favorite places to visit. Before we left, we had a nice Thanksgiving at our house. The boys were really good and Ryan enjoyed the traditional foods. He brought his own little placemat that he made at school. Jacob is still a fussy eater so he made do wit his usual bananas and other white food! I was too busy getting all the food on the table so I didn't take any photos other than the one below. My Facebook friends from Australia, South Africa, Sweden and Brazil wanted to see a picture of our dinner so I snapped a quick photo of my plate. I didn't even think to arrange it nicely so what you see is what I ate! You'll probably recognize my special yam casserole and Jessica's zesty carrots.

Your Black Friday is like our Boxing Day, the 26th December. That's when sales tend to start, and people go beserk buying stuff they didn't want before and are only buying because it has a few £££'s off! I give them the swerve. If I happen to be in town, and happen to find something that I wanted and was now reduced, then happy days, but I don't make it my mission to sale shop. Cannot be faffed quite frankly!
ReplyDeleteLove a good old roast dinner. Actually, I love the leftovers. I stick them in bread and make the best sarnie ever! I really am quite disgusting.
Have a lovely start to the week x
Hi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteI like your version of Black Friday much better. Your dinner looks great! Have a wonderful time in San Diego. I have never heard of Santee Lakes I will check your link out.
Hugs, Dru
The tuxedo cake looks amazing! So glad you had a great dinner with everyone. Enjoy your San Diego get-a-way! ((Hugs))
ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteYummy, those photos are making me hungry! Glad to hear that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I followed the Santee Lakes link... what a gorgeous place. Will you be going back for "Santa on the Lakes" fun? Have a lovely Monday. ((hugs))
Oh it is Santee, CA in San Diego county! I thought it was in the city of SD. Very pretty are you guys camping or in a cabin??? Hugs, Dru
ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn, I have heard of Santee Lakes and know it by the 920 zipcode. I had to learn all the cities in So CA when I was studying a scheme to pass my probation with the USPS. That was back into 1975. Then I learned No. Ca and many cites throughout the US. Hope you have a nice time! Hugs
ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn;
ReplyDeleteSantee California looks like a beautiful place. I'd rather go there too instead of shopping. Now most stores are pushing shopping on Thanksgiving. I think it's terrible. Before you know it, that holiday won't exist.
Your dinner looks yummy! I bet it tasted yummy too. ;-} I can almost taste the Tuxedo Cake. Haven't had one in years.
Have a great day ahead my friend. Hugs
Love the Tuxedo Cake!!! Where did you get it? (I should read the other comments) Have a great time on your adventure! HUGS
ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn! Lucky you to have a nice little getaway. Smart thinking! :) Your plate looks delicious to me! Can you believe that I have never heard of Tuxedo cake? Sure looks good though! Have a wonderful Tuesday. Big hugs!
