As I sit here and write this, I have two dogs staring at me with expectant yet worried faces. This happens ever autumn when we set the clocks back. Cooper and Kanan are used to eating at 7 AM and 5 PM on the dot. You can set a clock to me as I'm very consistent about timing. So when they don't see me springing into action, they think I've lost my mind. We are having mild Santa Ana's with temperatures in the 90's so I took advantage of the heat to give them both baths. Wynne recommended Furminator products to help with shedding. I already had the Furminator deshedding tool but I hadn't tried the shampoo and conditioner. Theproducts both smelled really nice and the dogs look shiny and handsome. I also use the Top Paw Self-Cleaning Slicker Brush . I have one for Kanan designed for short hair breeds and a long-hair breed brush for Cooper. I like them because they have a button that pushes up the hair so you can easily remove it. The groomers at PetSmart recommended it and said it's what they use.
Besides the dogs being blue about the time change, I'm not a fan of the early darkness either. I feel bad for Jessica because when she gets home in the evenings (she works until 6 PM) it's already dark. She usually likes to take a little walk with the boys but now it will be dark. I'd like to try and get the boys to Disneyland this week but once again, it's too hot. Maybe by Wednesday or Thursday when a cool down is predicted. Happy November and don't forget to vote on Tuesday. I already voted by absentee ballot but Jeff hasn't. Maybe I'll hide the car keys.
Happy Monday Darylynn;
ReplyDeleteIt must puzzle them in the Spring too when they get to eat an hour earlier. ;-}
While your area is getting the heat, my area is in the low 30's to low 40's. We're expecting a nor'easter Tuesday night into Wednesday to add to the disaster here in northeast. I don't know how the worst hit areas in NY & NJ will be able to vote. Hugs my friend.
we are cold over here. It was very rainy over the weekend, and now it's sunny but brr. chilly! Just as our weather should be!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for Jess too, it isn't fun getting home when it's dark. I remember walking home from work in the dark, and while for the most part I didn't mind, sometimes it was not fun and just a little bit scary.
Happy Voting!

Hi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteI will be getting up very early tomorroe to vote! I never vote via mail for the important elections since the absentee ballots are not counted until after the election is over makes me to nervous!I am sure Disneyland on Thursday or Friday wheb we drop 30 degrees will be great days to go. I hate driving in the dark at 5:00 for about 4 months!!!I wish they would leave the time change alone like AZ does. Have a great Monday!! Hugs, Dru
Hi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteBelle was the same way on daylight savings change day. She can get very bossy if her meals aren't on time. It's amazing how their little inner clocks work! I was a petsmart yesterday (the store was jam-packed with people and pets... Belle was loving every moment lol). Must look for that brush you mentioned; sounds fabulous. It's mild here, snow is melting. Wishing you a fabulous Monday. ((hugs))
Hi Darylynn! Happy Monday! I'm with you on the time change. I'm not a big fan of the short days either. Dave gets home from work and we can't do anything outside. Not to mention, I always feel like we're eating dinner super late as well even though it might only be 6:30. I'm weird like that. lol Your 90's sound good to me right now. We are in the low 40's during the day and the 20's at night. We also voted early. LOL at hiding Jeff's keys! Have a wonderful Monday! Big hugs.
ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn. I'm not a fan of the time change either altho I like it being light out in the morning. The girls were at Disney over the w/e. Sierra is in the Christmas Parade and they were taping it this w/e. They love staying at the Grand Californian. Lucky kids! Apparently they don't mind the heat.
ReplyDeleteYes, definitely hide the keys. hehe! :) Hugz!
Hello Darylynn,
ReplyDeletedogs are such smart creatures, and creatures of habits too. Here Gary didn't really pay attention to the time change (a week ago for us), but I think dogs must be more affected.
I've been very saddened by what happened on the eastern coast, and it came to my mind that Elizabeth used to live in Hoboken, back then, which I think was hit by the hurricane. (maybe I'm wrong, though).
Happy November & happy voting !
xoxo
I had to smile when you said you might hide his keys. Kari and I are the same when voting so key hiding isn't necessary. We voted and mailed it in weeks ago. They should have it ready to be counted in tomorrow. HUGS
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of the early darkness either. Days are very shot here already, the sun sets at 4:25 PM and with the overcast skies I have to turn on the light at 3 PM. Yuck!
ReplyDeleteLOL @ hiding Jeff's car keys. ;D The world wants Obama to win.
Happy November. xo
Hi Darylynn, I do not like the time change either. Here we are with a heatwave. Then it will cool off with possible rain and we are going to Legoland on Saturday. Crazy Ca weather. I am still playing with my site and I am making a Christmas quilt. I did find one from you that says Mills Family Home. I found Dru's too. Wish you had your Christmas site up. I will vote tomorrow. Should be interesting.
ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn! My fall back didn't work out so well. I thought I'd get an extra hour to either stay up or sleep. When I finally did go to bed, I was woke up by Emily twice & Elliot twice. None of us slept well, & that's unusual. I hate it getting darker earlier.
ReplyDeleteWe're still having temps in the 80's, but I'll take that over some that are already having really cold weather.
I voted early voting. I am excited about tomorrow!
I used to love the "fall back" change when I was working and had to work on Sunday. It gave me an extra hours sleep. I can understand how Jessica must get frustrated. I don't like it getting dark early either. Last evening, I thought it was 9 pm and it was only 7. Poor Kanan and Cooper! Hope they adjust soon. Now that Mandy is potty trained, I want to work on getting her on a feeding schedule.
ReplyDeleteDepending on who Jeff is voting for, I might recommending hiding the car keys too. I vote absentee and I love it.
((Hugs))
Happy Election Day Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteOn pins and needles! I am predicting we will know by 9:00ish tonight. Have a great day and evening.
Hugs, Dru
Hi Darylynn, yes please send me the quilt piece you mentioned.
ReplyDeleteThe picture has 2 girls missing. Ysela lives with her mom who goes to UC Berk. and Sammy's little sister is due in Feb. So it will be tied. But I am praying that Andrew and Marina will try for another baby and I hope it is a boy. OF course I would love another grandchild.
Hi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteAnimals seem to know when anything is out of kilter thats for sure.
They even sense if you are feeling down or bad.
I have a soft spot for the early dark as it reminds me of when my twins were tiny and I would be making dinner. There was just a homey touch to things back then.
Have a great Wednesday.
Hugs
