Carmageddon Part Deux
This weekend we are having the sequel to the first Carmageddon where they shut down the 405 Freeway from the 10 (Santa Monica Freeway) to the 101 (Ventura Freeway) in order to knock down the second half of the Mulholland Bridge. For those unfamiliar with Los Angeles, this is a major thoroughfare from the valley to the westside, including the airport. Like last time, people are being urged to stick close to home. Last time, after all the hype, it turned out to be a non-event. People steered clear of the area and there were no big problems. However, officials are warning against any shenanigans like last time where a trio set up a dining table and toasted with wine. This time they are warning, "You will be arrested!" Party Poopers!
Jeff's iPhone arrived on Wednesday but mine came a day later so we waited to have them activated and our numbers transferred until Thursday. Both times the Fed Ex guy was scared by our Halloween spider that drops down and then slowly climbs back up. Jeff's been busy over at the other house working on the bathroom remodel. We'll stick close to home over the weekend and I'll learn about my new phone and add apps to it.

Hi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteWe both know someone will try another prank I am sure I love that one with them dining on the freeway. Have a great time in Ventura I haven't been there in ages. Any questions about the iPhone text me. I had lots of help from Joe that way especially about the cool camera apps. I also have an app that tracks my walking which also is good for running. Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs, Dru
no way! nope! no way could i have waited a day to activate my phone! i had it activated within 5 minutes of UPS delivering it! lol! and then i restored all my apps back on it (that took a while cuz i had so many... even though i had deleted all my music and several apps in preparation for it arriving! heck... i was stalking the UPS guy cursing him for being later than usual! (he said "don't beat me" as he was walking toward me and me toward the truck... no waiting for a doorbell on that delivery!!!!!)
ReplyDeleteso glad you are finally in the world of iphone! even if you didn't already have an ipad you'd have not problems getting used to it and learning it.... i think theiphone is one of the easiest phones to learn to use!!!!
soooooo what have you asked siri? i asked her to marry me... lol! and where to bury a dead body... she scolds me if i use curse words... she's too funny!
I think that the photo is a fun photo but then am a native. That seems like a fun thing to do. It might be a problem for those working on the road though now that it was advertised that someone it that... but still. Guess it is better to say away. :-/

ReplyDeleteHope no one gets arrested during this carmegeddon.
Sounds like a nice relaxing weekend. Enjoy it!
Happy weekend..

Hi Darylynn that is funny that people went out to eat on the freeway last time. It's always a pain for people in the Bay area when they work on the bridges.
ReplyDeleteRight now they are doing work in our town called the Lincoln Bypass, you might have read about it if they publish any news about Northern CA, the work has been going on for about 2 years as they route a freeway around our town. Before everyone drove right through it because there was no other way to get around us, well still isn't until they finish. There are huge traffic jams including rigs in our Historic down town. Well the bypass is scheduled to be done Oct and I am so excited. This project has been planned for 20 years and It was finally approved 5 years ago.
I hope you're having fun with your new phone. I see you got the app foursquare but didn't see you back on the list yesterday. Hope you're having fun with it. Have a great weekend. Hugs
I bet you are having fun with your new phone. I have 1 year left on my current contract. I have seen how Siree works if that is how you spell it. My cousin showed me and I thought it was so cool. All the pics I posted on FB from Hawaii were from my IPhone and the camera has gotten better on the newer phones. Tomorrow will be HOT so stay cool. Hugs
