Weekend Plans: on Saturday evening, we have a retirement party for a fire chief friend. We've known Jim and Vanna since Jeff first got on the LAFD around 35 years ago! It is being held at the beautiful Getty Museum overlooking all of Los Angeles. Should be fun. Also on Saturday is the annual "Touch a Truck" event in Thousand Oaks. The boys wait all year long for this. And then Sunday is Father's Day! Wishing all of your dads and husbands a Happy Father's Day!

School's Out for Summer!
I still love the last day of school. I didn't dislike school as a child but I sure did look forward to summer vacation...which in those days, seemed endless! Now it seems it's over in a blink of an eye. I went to Ryan's school on Thursday for his last day celebrations because Jessica and Pat were both working. They had lots of activities, games and a big pizza party. There was a lady doing face painting and Ryan asked for Spiderman but she said that was beyond her talent so he and Jacob settled for batman masks. Jacob loves red so his had to be red.

Sounds like a fun w/e. Hugz!
Hi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteIf I remember correctly you went to another event or retirement at The Getty before? I loved Summer vacation and was a little sad at the same time because I would miss some of my friends that I did not usually see over the Summer. But some schools nowadays are only off for 2 months. Your plans sound great. Have a wonderful Father's Day weekend.
Hugs, Dru
I've always loved summer vacation! The painted on masks are so cute. Sounds like you have a busy weekend... have fun!
ReplyDeleteThe last day of school is wonderful. I hope the boys have a great vacation!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend with all of your plans!! ((BIG HUGS))!!
Sounds like a wonderful weekend Darylynn, how nice you get so spend so much time with them together. I enjoyed my time with Morgan so much, she is going to be a Sophomore next year it is hard to believe. Time goes by so fast now that I am over 40, before that time was so slow, but I think when the kids were home time went by so slow for some reason which is good because it seemed like I had them forever! Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great weekend ahead.
ReplyDeleteI always loved the last days of school. Handing in books, bringing games to play from home and then summer on the beach. Oh yes!
Happy weekend
Hugs
