Oscar, Oscar
We who live in the LA area are way more obsessed with the Academy Awards than the rest of the US. Well, some of us anyway. I know I never miss them and get all ready to watch the early red carpet arrivals on Sunday afternoon. I'm looking forward to the return of Billy Crystal as host. His opening bits where he's inserted into the nominated movies is usually hilarious. Jeff and I have done a good job of seeing most of the nominated movies and performances. I'm pulling for The Artist as Best Picture and it's a toss up for me for Best Actor. I'd be happy with either George Clooney or Jean Dujardin. I'm pretty sure Viola Davis from The Help will win as well as Octavia Spencer for Best Supporting Actress from the same movie. Tonight we have The Beginners to watch starring Christopher Plummer who is the front-runner for Best Supporting Actor. Next week we can dish on the gowns. It's not as fun as it used to be before the actresses all had stylists. We don't have the swan dresses to look forward to anymore. Have a great weekend!

Hi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteI can't wait until Sunday! I love the Oscars. I am only pulling for only one to win the Best Actor who deserves it after so many years and so many great parts and good films!! I will be upset if he doesn't win it. Jean Dujardin was good in The Artist don't get me wrong. Hope you have a great weekend. Hugs, Dru
I bet Dru means George Clooney. We like to watch it here too. I have not seen the Artist but I did see the Help. I have liked Christopher Plumber since The Sound of Music. Have a great weekend! Hugs
ReplyDeleteGlad you survived your Chuck E Cheese adventure! The little ones look sooo happy :o) We have a snowstorm heading our way today and snow for the weekend, so I'll be staying home as much as possible. No new post at my blog, by the way, just checking in to make sure you're ok. Lots of hugs xx
ReplyDeleteI've always love the Oscars and watch every year, much to JD's charign (?) lol I don't often see most of the movies since they nominate so many anymore, but I hope Viola Davis and Octavia get them. I loved that movie. I love the gowns too, but Angelina Jole is always so bored and snobbish looking and they just fawn over anything she wears. I would just love to be there in person someday, but doubt it ever happens *smiles8
ReplyDeleteIf there's one thing I know for sure it's that you love the Oscar's. It'll be fun watching the gowns and reading what you have to say about them next week. Have a fun w/e. Hugz!!
ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteI enjoy the Oscars and will be watching!!
Sadie asked me to let you know that her computer is down and she is waiting for repair. That is why she hasn't posted or been around to visit lately. I am glad I heard from her! She was using her husband's work computer to email.
Have a wonderful weekend!
HUGS
Oh yes, and Sadie sends her love! xx
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, Darylynn! It's so you!! I haven't watched the Oscars the last few years because I was always working that evening. Maybe this year I'll try to watch it. It's always fun to see the gowns. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI am watching the Oscars now.. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.
ReplyDeleteCannot get interested and keep switching around for something better so now finally just turned it off.
Hope you are enjoying the show. It is fun to see who wears what and how.
