Do you know I began blogging in August of 2002? So I'm coming up on my 10th anniversary. I would say for probably the first 8 years, I rarely missed a day of posting. That's a lot of posts and if I ever had time to go through all the saved blogs and all the WordPress archives, I would have quite the extensive diary of my life! I'm actually kind of excited about this new blog as there are a lot of new things to learn about how to customize it and make it my own. Yesterday, I tweaked a few things such as colors, font size, etc... and added the "About Me," "My Weather" and my "Blog Buddies" list. If I've inadvertently left anyone off, please let me know. I just added those friends who are actively blogging and I left off passworded blogs. Not really happy with the looks of that list... is that customizable? There's also a place below the weather where you can add yourself as a follower of my blog so please do that. And for those of you who are secret followers, come on out of the closet and start leaving me comments. I am happy to have you as a reader but I'd like to get to know you!
I had trouble finding things with the new blogger interface so switched to the older one and I was able to find the place to turn off the word verification to leave a comment. Hopefully I won't be flooded with spam but don't you hate that word verification? Can they make it anymore illegible? If you're having any problems leaving a comment on this blog, leave me a message on my old blog. I will be keeping that up until the end of the month but you might want to update your links with this new address because this will most likely be my new home. Oh and I did figure out how to postdate so this should publish Friday at 12:01 AM!
To further my Blogger education, I'm going to try and add a video. This was at Christmastime, 2010, when Cooper was a 3 month old puppy. Aww!
I'm glad I don't have old blog posts saved. I did have a few on the old computer, and when I read them back I cringed. Badly written and boring. So glad no one else can ever go back and read them!
ReplyDeleteYou're doing well with Blogger. This post has posted at the time you wanted, the video worked, and I love the new additions. You can alter the Blog Buddies list, but it'll still be quite clumsy looking.

I hadn't watched the whole episode of Survivor until last night. I kept falling asleep Thursday on it since I had to watch from my DVR at 10:30. This will be an interesting one that is for sure. Oh wow, Darylynn, it looks fabulous in here! I don't blame you for scaling down for sure as I have done it over the years, too. Your new blog looks beautiful. I love the reads section....I never noticed that I can add the links as you have, done. Looks marvelous that way. I must look into that! ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn, I think I first started a web home with Geocities templates and I for my first domain with them. I think I still have a guestbook from way back when. I think I started blogging at the end of 2002. The years have passed and I did so many pages just with our homework pages. I have combined many of them. I think I will print some out and use them for scrapbooking pages. I think my domain is paid for another year. I will probably be the last one left with a web page. Have a great weekend! Hugs

ReplyDeleteThe other day I noticed no credit coz I did remember that the cute header is from Karol (and I think it's really perfect for your home), but I could not remember about the gorgeous suns. :) Your new home is very cozy, the only thing I miss are the cute emoticons you had before. :)

Hi Darylynn!! Love the new blog. I too hated the new interface and and stayed with the older one. Maybe in time I'll go back to blogging again as I never really liked FB and Twitter. But for now until things go back to normal in my life and my family's, I'm staying away from it. But I do promise to visit every so often. Hard to believe I started blogging (or a country website as they called then) in 1996.
