Busy Bees!

We had a very busy weekend!  Besides some car shopping, we went to a Home Show in Westlake Village on Saturday.  We saw some patio covers that we liked the looks of for the other house...where Jessica and family live and got some other ideas of things we'd like to do in the future.  They had food trucks there but we opted to go to a nice restaurant for lunch.  Are gourmet food trucks a California thing or are they everywhere now?  In the old days, food trucks were looked down upon and even called "Roach Coaches" but now they are very trendy and serve good food and it's not cheap either.  HERE's a website where you can find Gourmet Food Trucks.  Many food trucks have followers on Twitter so they know when and where they can find them.  A lot of them have clever names.  Check out the link to see what I mean.

On Sunday, we went to the Canine Classic Dog Walk and Festival in neighboring town Calabasas.  It wasn't as good as the Bark in the Park that we went to last October but the dogs still enjoyed the outing.  They had dogs doing tricks and there was this one dog dyed pink and it made me think of Kim's friend who caught a lot of flack for doing the same thing for the Superbowl.  No one seemed to be outraged over this pink dog.

So about the car... we have definitely decided on the Prius 4 with deluxe solar roof package in Sea Glass Pearl.  We have one dealer holding one for us until Wednesday and, in the meantime, we have an auto broker who works with our Fireman's Credit Union looking to see if she can find us an even better deal on one.  We've been told by other dealers that the price we have been quoted (in writing) is a very aggressive price so we feel pretty good about it.  The best part is they have one on their lot and we've been finding that the Sea Glass Pearl with the sunroof that we want is rather scarce.  We should hear from the broker today and if she can't find one or do better on price, then we will get the one on hold for us.

  1. Hi Darylynn,
Yay you picked the color I liked! Very exciting to get a new car. Back in the day I use to get a new car very 3-5 years but since things have changed so much with the economy I have had my car new since 2002 and I love not having a car payment for now at least. I will need a new one eventually. Your weekend sounded as busy as mine but mine was mostly work. Hope you have a wonderful Monday. Hugs, Dru

  2. Hey Darylynn, I know weekends can be wild and you need the week days to recovery from them. I love the name Sea Glass (wonder why?). A lot of my sea glass is from old coke bottle glass and that is what this color reminds me of. HUGS

  7. Hi Darylynn,
That's a really nice looking car! Paul and Jackie ordered a Jeep for Jackie (she just loves them and has had one for years). They went with a dark grey color, fully loaded Jeep Patriot. I think that's the model name. I've always loved Jeeps, too. I have my eye on a Rubicon model, in cheery lime green :) I love that pic of the fluffy pink dog. She looks happy! Have a gorgeous day and week ahead. ((hugs))

  8. Hi Darylynn! There are a couple of gourmet food trucks in Baltimore City and there are a lot in NYC. So I *think* they might be in all the big cities? I'm glad that no one got outraged over the pink doggy. I think she's adorable!

Congrats on the new car! Any ideas on when you will have it? Have a great day!

  9. Hi Darylynn,
We have food trucks also that sell ice cream, hot dogs, etc. but nothing gourmet at all. Sabrett hot dogs has them around.
Philadelphia has them for big hot soft pretzels. NYC has them all over the place.
The car's color is really pretty. I hope your broker can find you a really good deal before tomorrow.
    Have a great Tuesday evening!
    Hugs
