We took the boys and the dogs to the dog beach just south of Santa Barbara on Thursday. They were so excited and had such a fun time. They wanted to bring this boogie board so Jeff helped them catch a few waves... catch soup actually. I assume everyone knows what soup is... but maybe only beach people know that term... soup is the foamy white water after a wave has broken. Here's a short video clip of Jacob riding the soup.
Today is the last day of camp for both Ryan and Jacob and school doesn't start until the week after next so we have all of next week with the boys and no place for them to go. We decided to come up with a few field trips for them. I made online reservations for Monday to go see the Space Shuttle Endeavour at the California Science Center. Remember when I went to Malibu and took a video of the space shuttle arriving in Southern California? Have a great weekend!

Your grand children surfing on the west coast while mine are surfing on the east coast. The boys look like they are having a ball. What fun.
ReplyDeleteIts wonderful watching kids have a great time.
Have a great weekend.
Soup to them is the "real thing". How fun! HUGS
ReplyDeleteWhat I meant is that they think they are really surfing!

Hi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteThey look like they were having a great time. I love the picture of them carrying the board over their heads. LA is back already and Burbank on Monday. You have an extra week I guess. That should be a fun field trip for them. Have a great weekend. Hugs, Dru
Looks like they had a wonderful time :)
ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn, School starts here on Monday the 19th. It used to be that school started after Labor Day? Surfing looks like fun. Love the video. Jacob is so proud of himself. Didn't know they called that soup! Hugz! Happy w/e.

ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn, we had a nice time at the Science/Space Museum. We really enjoyed the aquarium there. There is a section above it where the kids can pet start fish. There is a children's section that they loved too. Lots to do there and a food area too. Olvera street in nice too. We just had Jazzy's princess party to I am going to add pictures to my blog. Have a great week! Hugs

ReplyDeleteNo move to San Diego. She was there to give a presentation.
I do miss living in the west as I hate the humidity on the east coast.
They're adorable !!!! They seem to have lots of fun in the soup !

hi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteI love this photo! The boys are adorable.
Enjoy your time with them.
~hugs~
What a great pic! So great that you and Jeff can take them there and have that time with them. I'm familiar with what "soup" is but had never heard it called that. Perhaps here in Florida it's called something different. :) Have a great day. ((Hugs))
ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear that you're feeling much better. Nothing worse than having chronic pain. It's so exhausting, to say the least. I love the vid and photo of the boys, they're just so adorable! The Orange County Fair sounded like a blast ~ glad you enjoyed it :) Have a lovely weekend! New post at my blog (I dusted the cobwebs off again lol). ((hugs))
Hi Darylynn; It's been a long time since I've visited here. I've had such a busy summer for the first time in years. It's been both good and bad but mostly good. I put a post online about my summer. So hard to believe how fast it's flown and schools will be opening here next Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos. Your "Beach Boys" are cuter than the other well known group. Have a great day ahead. Hugs
Hi Darylynn,
