Look what arrived over the weekend all the way from Jules in New York! Isn't this a lovely, cheery bouquet?! I have it on my console table in the living room and it smells so great every time I walk by. Thanks Jules, Michael and Shawn!

Piece of Cake
So far, this whole microdiscectomy surgery has been a piece of cake! Far less than I had imagined. Makes me mad that I wasted so much time (6 months) waiting for it to get better on it's own. I haven't even needed to take any of the pain medication the doctor prescribed. Even though I scoffed at the idea of wrapping my mid-section in saran wrap for my shower Sunday morning, I couldn't really think of a better way to keep the area dry especially since I wanted to wash my hair. I don't know how they do it on Survivor but just waiting 2 days for a shower was about all I could take! After my shower, Jeff was able to change the bandage on my back. The incision is pretty small and vertical- probably 1 1/2 inches long. It's down low on my back so if I was younger, a well-placed tramp stamp (tattoo) would cover it nicely. Really need to go shopping and see if I can find a cute flowy sundress or loose tops to wear over my new best friend (back brace.)

Hi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to hear that everything is going well for you! I don't know how people can go longer periods of time without washing their hair either because I know I can't! It kills me to just go 1 day, lol.
I am so glad that you liked your flowers! I had fun picking them out. I have always liked flowers but now that I work in the floral industry, I have flowers on my mind constantly now. :)
Have a great week!
Hi Darylynn,
ReplyDeleteI had a feeling it was going to be a piece of cake for you! That is great news. Just think the next 5 weeks will go by so fast and this will all be but a mere memory!! Have a wonderful Monday. Hugs, Dru
If the hard part has been simple... then it seems the rest will be a cinch... Heres hoping. HUGS
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear your surgery went well and the incision is so small. Didn't the first shower after surgery feel amazing?! The flowers are so pretty and so thoughtful!
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear that your surgery went well and that the incision is very small. Yay! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat news girlfriend! So happy for you! Hugz!
ReplyDeleteSo glad things went well and more happy it was easy and you are relatively pain free.
ReplyDeleteYup.. no shower for me either for a couple weeks. When I finally went to rehab I had my hair washed in the salon using a silly head bonnet contraption that allowed me to sit up and have water drain down a chute. Once I was home I showered but, it was sponge baths in the sink in my rehab room for all those weeks.
Lovely flowers!
Hugs
So glad to hear it's all going so well. Love the idea of a tramp stamp :) Beautiful flowers xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn, so glad to hear you are doing well. The flowers are beautiful! If things go according to plans, I may meet Jules in 2014 when we see Niagra Falls. My lower back causes me pain to, but not on a regular basis. Nice to know there is a less evasive surgery. Take care. Hugs.
