Before and After

We finished our makeover of the pine kitchen cabinet and hutch (see "Naughty Pine" post below) and we are very happy with the way it turned out.  Here's the before...notice the old-fashioned brass hardware and wooden knobs.

And here's the after... love the new hardware.  It's hard to see in the photo but they're a very rustic iron which goes well with the new Wine Glass Chandelier which is made of iron.  I'm also happy with the chalkboard grey background which gives it a really clean and neat look.  I'm going to be a bit more sparing in what goes back on it so it's not so cluttered.

Happy to have the time change since I like it to stay light later in the evening.  Update on my cortisone shot from last Wednesday...so far, absolutely no improvement which is really disappointing.

  1. that looks so much better, I love it. but I really am a fan of painting furniture, so no suprise that I like this so much!

Sorry that the jab hasn't helped at all. That's a shame. Should it have been instantly noticable, or is it something that takes a bit of time? I'm assuming the former.

We have snow. Ha. Springtime in England! x

  2. Hi Darylynn,
It looks great! I love it! I am sorry your injection doesn't seem to be working :( I would think by now you would feel the effects! What next?? Have a wonderful day in the 80's!

  3. Wow - a whole different look to your cabinet! Very nice. So sorry that the cortisone injection hasn't helped. Seems it should by now. Are you going to have it repeated?
I too like the time change. I like it light later in the evening and with the light arriving later in the morning, Mandy lets me sleep in a bit longer! :) ((Hugs))

Sorry to hear the cortisone shot isn't working. Bummer!

I'm another lover of daylight savings time altho my body is still on the old time. Slept till 8 this am.

Had lunch with Rose Carpenter today. Great lady and a great time. Loved meeting her in person. Picture on my blog!

  5. Hi Darylynn, I just love how the make over turned out. Did you have to sand down the original finish first? I need to post a picture of the "curio" I got from my parents. Sorry the injection has not helped. My cortisone "coactails" worked great since they had pain medicine in it too. I had it in my shoulder and back a long time ago. Hope you feel better soon. Hugs

  6. Looks pretty both ways. It is a lot of work to paint furniture.
I wish the cortisone had worked for you. Please take it easy with your back to allow some healing to take place.
I hope you see dramatic improvement soon with or without the shot.
    Hugs
