This photo was taken late in the year, probably late November, so our fall is a little delayed from what it is in other areas of the country.
Here's a photo of our backyard birches taken from our living room.
Crape Myrtles have brilliant pink flowers in summer but beautiful fall color later
The other thing I do once it's fall is to change decor in my house. One of the easiest changes is to have throw pillow covers that you can change seasonally. Mine all come from Pottery Barn. I also change out placemats, dining room table centerpiece, decorate the chandelier, bring out my autumn Longaberger baskets and add an autumn wreath on our front door.
And then of course there's Halloween and I have to bring out my Dept 56
And decorate the front door in my black and white theme!
BOO!

Good morning and happy blog hop day! Thanks for sharing all your beautiful pictures with us. Hugz!
ReplyDeleteHappy Autum Blog Hop Darylynn, I remember California's November Fall. My brother had a Maple tree in front of his house he had planted when he first moved to San Jose and I would enjoy just seeing the familiar Fall colors and at that point I would miss upstate NY. LOL! Loved your blog hop post my friend. Hugs
ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn! I never realized how much "fall" you all really got in California. I love your decorations and I really like those pillows with the seasonal covers. I think I need to get some (you know, for Shawn to toss all over like he does already. lol) Have a wonderful day! Hugs
ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn! Happy Wednesday and Oct. 1st! Wow, the color on those birch trees are beautiful. I never realized that you guys had such lovely fall colors. Beautiful autumn decorations (and home!). I love your Dept. 56 collection. Have a great day! Hugs
ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn! Happy Blog Hop Day! I enjoyed my visit! Your house is beautiful, and the Fall colors on your trees are amazing! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHi Darylynn,. I love your wreath on the front door. I packed mine. We have a liquid amber tree in our front yard. Did they boys help you with the spider? How is the kitchen coming along? It will be near 100 out our way today and probably the same for you. Stay cool and have a great week. Hugs
ReplyDeleteHappy Blog Hop Day Darylynn!!! I am so glad you guys in California get to experience the wonderful colors of Fall. It is the best thing and the cool temps...which you may not have until November either...LOL!! Your house looks amazing!! Great entry. Loved it. Have a nice day.

Hi! Lovely photos of your fall colors.
ReplyDeleteI get the boys are loving the decorations. I like how pretty your chandelier looks with the fall leaves entwined.
Enjoyed seeing all this.
Happy Fall!
Hi Darylynn! Thank for educating me on fall in California. The birch trees through your window are so pretty!! Love all your fall and Halloween decorations too.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blog Hop Day Darylynn! I was so happy to see your tag at my blog! Fall here is like there - we get it mid November or towards the end. I love the picture looking out of your neighborhood & the one of your birch trees. I didn't realize Crape Myrtles looked like that in the fall! They're beautiful. Love your living room too....looks so inviting. Thank you for allowing us to visit you & get a glimpse of fall in your area. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteDo the leaves fall off in the winter like they do in Michigan? Beautiful pictures, thanks for sharing. Waiting patiently for a glimpse of your new kitchen. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Autumn pics, Darylynn! In the first photo (the one you took from upstairs window)... in the background, those mountains... are those the Santa Monica mountains? ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteP.S. I always adore seeing your spiffy Dept 56 Halloween/Autumn display! Absolutely fabulous :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for straightening out the hills & mountains for me, Darylynn! Have a wonderful weekend. ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteI love birch trees. Yours are lovely. Here in Florida, we don't see much color change. Even our crape myrtles don't change color very much. Very occasionally I'll spot a tree that has some color to it. I enjoy decorating in my home though. Your home looks very festive.
ReplyDeletepretty :O)
ReplyDeleteDid you have a glorious birthday? I hope you did! x
